Dr. Lana KOUZKO, DACM, LAC, NCCAOM

My name is Dr. Lana Kouzko.
I am a Doctor of Chinese Medicine, Licensed Acupuncturist, Herbalist, and Educator based in San Diego, CA. My mission is to help people find natural, effective, and lasting solutions for pain relief, stress reduction, and overall wellness through the wisdom of Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM).

I grew up in Siberia and the Far East of Russia, bordering the Heilongjiang province of China, where Eastern Medicine was an integral part of daily life. In my childhood, I was surrounded by herbal knowledge passed down through generations. My grandmother taught me how local tribes used wild plants for healing, while my mother introduced me to cupping therapy when I was just 8 years old.

Inspired by my dream of becoming a doctor, I began volunteering at hospitals as a teenager and learned advanced techniques from Chinese doctors, including Imperial Fire Massage, specialized cupping methods, and herbal medicinal wines and remedies. I pursued formal studies at the Amur State University of Humanities, earning a Master’s degree in Biology and Natural Science, focusing on the study of medicinal plants.

After moving to the United States, I continued my path in holistic medicine at the Pacific College of Oriental Medicine in San Diego, where I earned both Master’s and Doctorate degrees in Chinese Medicine and Herbology. I completed clinical training at the UCSD RIMAC Clinic, the Veteran’s Clinic, and the Pacific College Clinic, enriching my experience in treating diverse conditions with acupuncture, cupping, and herbal therapy.

With over 20 years of medical and clinical experience, I have served at the Children’s Clinical Hospital and Amur Regional Clinical Hospital in Russia, as well as integrative medicine clinics in San Diego. My work is rooted in blending ancient wisdom with modern care to support patients in managing pain, inflammation, stress, migraines, arthritis, digestive health, and more.

Beyond my clinical practice, I am also a Certified CEU Provider and Educator. I teach Traditional Chinese Medicine classes and workshops for healthcare professionals, massage therapists, estheticians, cosmetologists, and anyone curious about Eastern Medicine. As a member of the Association of Holistic Skincare Practitioners, I also specialize in cosmetic acupuncture, holistic facelifts, and natural skincare techniques.

Today, I am honored to share my passion for acupuncture, herbal medicine, cupping therapy, and holistic education with my community in San Diego and beyond.
